If you’re planning to apply to the Master of Psychology (Clinical) at James Cook University, you’ll want to read this post to ensure the process goes as smoothly as possible.

I’ll start off with the application period because it’s impossible for you to find this information on the official JCU Singapore website.

Application Period

The application is open between 1 June 2020 to 31st October 2020. But note that this is for the intake commencing in end January / early February 2021.

Your application will not be processed until the application window closes as the selection committee makes the selection by ranking all applicants in the applicant pool.

Get Your Documents in Order

If you have a non-Australian degree. You will need to get it assessed by the Australian Psychological Society (APS). This applies to all non-Australian degree holders include those of you from NTU, NUS, SMU or SUSS.

The cost of the assessment is AUD$795 payable to APS. You will need to submit your documents for assessment via post and the entire process can take up to eight weeks.

Select Your References

You will need 1 academic and 1 professional referee. The academic referee should be your thesis supervisor and the professional reference should be a supervisor at work.

If you don’t have either of the two, your chances of being shortlisted will be greatly reduced.

Hear it from the course coordinator himself in this Youtube video ( video skips directly to 29:45):
