If you haven’t been living under a rock, you’d probably know that the Covid-19 pandemic has been causing disruptions all over the world.
Singapore is no exception.
On 3rd April 2020, the Prime Minister announced what he called “circuit breaker” measures to curb the spread of the virus which included transitioning to home-based learning at all schools, including institutes of higher learning.
This government mandated home-based learning was officially slated to start on 7th April, but James Cook University Singapore had already been running online lessons since the new school term started on 16th March as a preemptive measure. There were some exemptions though, such as the English language Preparatory Programme and the Master of Psychology (Clinical) programme.
But since then, we’ve had to transition to fully online mode of studies for all our programmes. While the transition was not without hiccups, we were able to do so confidently due to the university’s blended learning approach, made possible by specialists from various departments in the university.
