Applying to Polytechnic after ITE | Joint Polytechnic Admissions Exercise

What is the Joint Polytechnic Admissions Exercise (JPAE)?

The Joint Polytechnic Admissions Exercise (JPAE) allows ITE students with a Higher Nitec and Nitec qualification to apply for full-time courses at the 5 polytechnics in Singapore:

  • Nanyang Polytechnic
  • Ngee Ann Polytechnic
  • Republic Polytechnic
  • Singapore Polytechnic
  • Temasek Polytechnic

Application Window

The application window is from 9am on 20 February to 4pm on 24 February and the outcome will be released on 5 April from 2pm. And this is for the 2023 intake commencing on 17 April.

Eligibility Requirements

If you have a Higher Nitec with a net GPA between 2.0 to 3.4, you will be eligible to enter the 1st year of a related 3 year diploma

But if your net GPA (including CCA bonus points) is 3.5 and above, you could be eligible to get up to 1 full year of exemptions and start from the 2nd year.

Side note: If you are applying for entry to the 2nd year of relevant engineering courses, you must attain a pass in ITE Bridging Mathematics module or a minimum grade of C6 in O-Level Mathematics.

Those of you with Nitec qualifications, except those with Nitec in Service Skills will be eligible to enter the 1st year of a related 3 year diploma if your net GPA (including CCA points) is 3.5 and above.
